Baking a Ham

My husband has a recipe for baking a ham that is out of this world!   If you have a smaller ham you can use the same recipe in a crock pot, otherwise you will need a roasting pan and lid.

This recipe will pull out the salt in the ham while it's baking.

2 liter bottle 7-up
2 cups brown sugar
whole cloves
1 can pineapple rings and juice
1 jar maraschino cherries and juice

Pour in 2-3" 7-up in the bottom of the roasting pan, cover ham with around 2 cups of brown sugar, put whole cloves directly into the side of the ham.   Next using toothpicks put pineapple rings and maraschino cherries on ham.   Pour leftover pineapple AND cherry juice into the pan with the 7-up.
You don't need to use a lid but you can if you want.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes per pound.

NOTE:   DO NOT BASTE,  the outside will turn into a glaze.

I hope you enjoy this recipe, its a big hit at our family dinners.
